bold and brambly, touch woody, raspy woody tannins carry the palate, sweet finish |
dark cherry and some attractive meaty notes on the nose - slightly gamey in an interesting and complexing way. Touch of violet lift. Slightly more full bodied and serious than many in the class - quite ripe but with the appropriately balanced acid and tannins. Good length. Slightly chunky but pleasingly so. |
savoury edge to nose, broody, extracted, bit green and astringent on finish |
Ripe, powerful, structured style. Acid, oak, fruit and savoury edge are all competing a bit here. Feels unresolved. |
